Employers - Ascent Executive Search

Search Options

We provide three search options for our clients:  retained, contingency and contract placement.

  1. Retained search is an exclusive agreement between Ascent and the client in which all of our resources are brought to bear in order to research, identify, qualify and recruit an elite handful of candidates for a specific job description.  During a retained search any candidates presented to the client will not be presented to any other client during the interim of the search.  Thorough biographies will be provided upon presentation to the client as well as references conducted on the applicant.  A percentage of the fee (usually 25%) will be required in order to conduct a retained search.  Many of our clients utilize this search method to hire “C” level applicants or Director level positions.

  2. Contingency search is an agreement between Ascent and the client in which we direct our resources in order to research, identify, qualify and recruit viable candidates applicable to the client’s job requisition.  Under a contingency agreement, any candidate hired by the client will be charged a fee agreed to prior to the onset of the search process.  Many clients utilize this search method for hiring mid-level to senior-level management positions.

  3. Although the need is rare, Ascent offers a contract employment option to its clients.  Candidates can be hired on a temporary or a “temp-to-hire” basis depending upon the needs of the client.  A percentage rate of the hourly wage, agreed to prior to the start date of the applicant, will be charged to the client.  If the client hires the candidate permanently a separation fee will be charged which will be calculated by subtracting the temporary fees paid by the client from the percentage of the employee’s yearly salary that would have been charged if the person was initially hired on a permanent basis.
